Darius Rucker concert sold out

ENID, Okla. — It’s official: The Darius Rucker True Believers Tour stop in Enid is a sellout.

Every one of the 3,774 seats for the March 7 show at Enid Event Center featuring country music standouts Rucker, the Eli Young Band and David Nail is sold out, said Keller Taylor, general manager of the Event Center and Convention Hall.

“The greater Enid community has shown a lot of excitement surrounding the highly-anticipated Darius Rucker concert in March, purchasing tickets at an unprecedented level,” Taylor said in a press release. “We are excited to announce a sellout show for the Darius Rucker concert in Enid Event Center. We appreciate the support from all the fans, our partner businesses and the city of Enid for their continued support.”

Reached later by phone, Taylor credited the big names coming to Enid and the event center staff promoting the show as factors behind the sellout.

“I think quality content will drive ticket sales,” he said. “I think this is a good concert with Darius Rucker, Eli Young Band and David Nail, with them all being excellent artists and being relevant right now.

“I think the work of the (event center) marketing team, their relationship with partners locally, I think it all trickles down to a sold-out show for sure.”

Tickets for the show first went on sale in mid-November, so the show sold out in about two months.

The event center has been open since around mid-June. Since that time, it has hosted a variety of shows and events, from country music artists Rodney Atkins and Justin Moore to Enid High School basketball games and more.

Meanwhile, if you wanted to go to this show but weren’t able to, don’t fret — Taylor said event center officials are nailing down some more events.

“We’ve got two things confirmed that we’ll be announcing soon. ... We’ll be excited to announce those in the next month,” Taylor said.

After the Darius Rucker show, the next major event scheduled at the event center is an appearance by the Harlem Globetrotters on April 2.

A full calendar of events is listed on the event center’s website. On the website, patrons can purchase tickets to shows, view maps and parking plans and other information.
