ENID — Tombstone Tales Tour

6:45 p.m. Saturday

Enid Cemetery, 212 W. Willow

Find out the history and mysteries of some of Enid’s most significant citizens buried at Enid Cemetery.

Tombstone Tales Tour is presented by the Chisholm Trail Coalition, and reservations for the tour may be made by contacting Sonya Wofford at 242-2233.

Horse-drawn wagons will carry groups of 15-20 people through the cemetery to stop at selected tombstones where actors will tell the tale of the buried person’s life.

The event is not scary and is appropriate for all ages.


5th annual Nightmare Warehouse

Various hours through Oct. 31

Enid High School chorus and volleyball programs get the benefit of some of the proceeds of Enid’s annual Nightmare Warehouse haunted house, which opened this past week.

This is the fifth year for the haunted house to benefit Enid High School programs.

Although times and dates are subject to change, the Nightmare Warehouse is open Wednesday through Saturday and Monday, Oct. 31. Hours are 7-10 p.m. weekdays and to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights.

Cost is $10 and $7 for children 12 and under.


Sooner State Kennel Club Dog Show

Friday through Sunday

Chisholm Trail Expo Center

The Sooner State Kennel Club Dog Show has become a fall tradition in Enid, and this year is no exception.

More than 2,000 people are expected in Enid this weekend for the show and trials. About 700 dogs are expected for the show. AKC breed groups will determine their champions, and the top in each group will compete for Best of Show.

Typical show times are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The AKC breed groups judged in the past include sporting, hound, working, terrier, non-sporting, toy and herding.

The event also will include a three-day agility trial.
