Stop the Cancer Concert

10:30 a.m. Saturday

Mark Price Arena



A $10 all-day pass will not only give you admission to watch nine bands perform Saturday, but also the satisfaction of doing something to support a disease that touches nearly every family.

The inaugural Stop the Cancer Concert, featuring several Christian-based bands and groups starts at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mark Price Arena. The last band will finish up sometime before 11 p.m. or so tomorrow night.

The bands — Faded Glory, Merge Band, The E-Town Rhythm Kings, The Refuge Band, American Stereo, 4-Given, Skyline Circle, Radial Angel and The Trust Project — are slated to perform and guest speaker is Lorenzo Dunford, an Enid minister. The Graybeards will cook hamburgers from noon to 4 p.m.

Organizers are planning an annual event.

The legendary performers Brooks & Dunn and ZZ Top, with special guest Rodney Atkins, take the Ford Center stage Sunday for one of the summer’s hottest concert tickets.

Cherokee Strip Conference Center



Trail Tales, a reenactment tour presented by Chisholm Trail Coalition, is 10 a.m. Saturday. Call for reservations at 242-2233. Cost is $5 for adults and $1 for children. The group will meet at Cherokee Strip Conference Center.
