EVENT

Enid Farmers Market

8-11 a.m. Saturday

corner of Garriott & Grand

After a soft opening for the past two weekends, Enid Farmers Market is holding a grand opening Saturday, featuring about 20 vendors.

Enid Farmers Market is a new produce and Oklahoma-made products market that will be held every Saturday through the fall. The idea behind the market is to connect Oklahoma farmers to consumers and to provide education to create a healthier community.

As the summer growing season gets under way, more produce and products will be added each week to the market.

Special events for the grand opening Saturday include a petting zoo and face painting for the children. Live music also will be provided by Riley Jantzen.

For information, email enidfarmersmarket@gmail.com or call 977-4420.

Gaslight Theatre, 221 N. Independence

“Broadway Bound” is the last of a series of three plays by the popular Neil Simon. Together with the other autobiographical works “Brighton Beach Memoirs” and “Biloxi Blues,” they make up the “Eugene Trilogy.”

Directed by Ginny Shipley, this play is about Eugene (Patrick Little) and his older brother, Stanley (Monte Hunter), dealing with their parents’ relationship falling apart as they are working together to become aspiring comedy writers for the radio and, eventually, television.

Some of the material is not appropriate for young children.

For tickets, call the Gaslight Theatre at 234-2307.

Continental Resources is teaming with Lyric Theater and Enid Symphony Orchestra to bring another Lyric performance to Enid.

A special presentation of Lyric Theater’s “The Story Hour: A Cabaret Evening With Sally Mayes” is 7:30 p.m. May 20 at Enid Symphony Center.

Continental Resources has underwritten the performance for a special one-night engagement as a benefit for Enid Symphony Orchestra.
