ENID, OK — Funeral for Robert L. Otto, 83-year-old Enid, resident will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at Garriott Road Church of Christ. Ray Rose will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Robert was born July 28, 1930, in Gettysburg, S.D., and died Saturday, November 16, 2013, at his home in Enid.

In June 1952, he married Mary Grogan, and the couple made their home in Bellflower, CA, where he was serving in the Army. They moved to Enid in 1971.

After his service, he went to work for Speedstar, George E. Failing Co., Public Library of Enid and Garfield County and finally as a security guard at Oakwood Mall.

He was a longtime member of Garriott Road Church of Christ. He was a member of the VFW.

He enjoyed walking at the mall and eating ice cream at Walmart.

He is survived by his daughters, Michelle Adams and husband Warren of Enid, and Cheryl Axleson of Houston, TX.; sons, Steven Otto of Wichita and Carl Otto of Florida; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice Caruthers, of Geary, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded by his parents, wife Mary, sons Robert J. Otto and Andy Otto, daughter Anna, one sister and great-granddaughter Amber Briggs.

     De was born June 2, 1926, in Medford, the son of George Alexander and Myrtle Biby Hamilton. De graduated from Gore High School. He entered the U.S. Navy on July 3, 1944 and was discharged on June 13, 1946. After De returned to Medford, he and Emma Jean Carrier were married on Sept. 29, 1946, in Nash. De worked as a butcher and retired in 1989. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Medford and was ordained as a Deacon in 1951.
