Bob was born May 1, 1926, to John Robert and Elizabeth Belt Kirkpatrick in Nevada, Mo., and passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Greenbrier Skilled Nursing Center.

At an early age, the family moved to Cedaredge, Colo., where he attended school until he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard in July 1943. He served 2 years in the South Pacific and attained the rank of coxswain before his discharge on April 11, 1946.

On April 18, 1946, he married Margie Langston in Grand Junction, Colo. They lived in Orange, Calif., for almost a year, and on Feb. 21, 1949, they moved to Kremlin, where they still reside. They had one daughter born to this union.

He was employed by F.W. Zaloudek for 28 years and Dowell for 10 years, when he retired.

He was active in the community and school affairs. He was active in the Masonic Lodge and Shrine Club in Enid, where he was to be president the following year, when family illness forced him to withdraw his position, where he received his 50-year pens 2001. He was a member of Methodist Church in Kremlin and a charter member of Kremlin Lions Club.

After his retirement, he and Margie were what many referred to as “snow birds,” having spent six months each winter in the Corpus Christi, Texas, area.

Survivors include his wife, Margie of the home; his daughter, Janet and her husband Dave Bittle, their three children Kimberly and husband Rafael Larin, their two sons Myles and Colby of Glendale, Calif., Dusty and his wife Tracy Bittle, their two children, Karlee and Kass of Kremlin, Shannan Bittle and Cathy O’Dell of Wagoner, Okla.; a brother, Douglas Kirkpatrick and his three sons, Tim and his wife Dana and family, Bobbie and Sean; brother, Howard Kirkpatrick and wife Jackie of Palo Cedro, Calif., and their daughters Kelly, Pam, Valerie and Jennifer and their families all of California; a sister, Betty Jo Tennant and her two daughters Gaylene Owens and her family Alex and Ashley of Enid, LeAnne Cox and her husband Phillip of Little Rock, Ark.; and a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Darrell.
