ENID, Okla. — HENNESSEY — Mass of Christian burial for Delores A. Matousek will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Hennessey. The vigil will is 6:30 p.m. today, Nov. 9, 2012, at St. Joseph’s. The Rev. Joseph Arledge will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Hennessey, under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.

Delores was born Sept. 23, 1925, on the family farm east of Bison to Charles J. and Mary (Bartunek) Schovanec. She spent her childhood on farms in the Bison and Garber areas.

She attended Bison Catholic School, Green Valley Country School, and Waukomis High School.

As a teenager, she worked at home and helped other farm families near Bison. During World War II and afterward, she worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in Enid as an operator and supervisor. She remarked that her most memorable day at the telephone company was the day President Franklin Delano Roosevelt died. She remembered the switchboards were lit up and crowded with telephone calls.

She married Ernest A. Matousek on Aug. 22, 1951, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Enid. They lived and farmed one-half mile north of Hennessey for 61 years.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Hennessey.

Delores was a devoted wife and mother. She always said that her children came first. She was a wonderful homemaker. Her hobby was talking with her sisters, brothers and friends.

Delores is survived by husband, Ernest of the home; daughter, Mary Matousek of Cashion; five sons and their wives, John and Terri, Dr. David and Jo Elaine, Dr. Denis and Melissa and James and Kathie, all of Hennessey, and Robert and Rhonda of Berthoid, Colorado; brother, Virgil Schovanec and wife Rose Ann; three sisters, Wilma Petru, Erma Kokojan and husband Wilfrid, and Sister Deborah Schovanec; two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Schovanec and Marcella Schovanec; and two brothers-in-law, Charley Frank Hromas and Melvin Markes. Her grandchildren are Rachael Rowland and husband Tanner, Katrina Matousek, Captain Phillip Matousek (currently serving in Afghanistan) and wife Kara, Emily Matousek, Maureen Matousek, Stephen Matousek, Joseph Matousek, Dr. Jennifer and husband Dr. John Ronck, Dr. James Matthew Matousek and wife Sarah, Katie and husband Dr. Jeremy Schneider, Dr. Sarah and husband James Fraser, Becky and husband Chris Battin, Jacob Matousek, Michael Matousek, Renee Matousek, Marie Hladik and husband Philip, Chris Wright, Marcie Durst and husband Josh, Michaela Matousek, Hannah Matousek and Maggie Matousek. Delores has 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Leonard Schovanec, Charles Schovanec and Robert Lee Schovanec; one sister, Helen Hromas; and one niece, Evelyn Schovanec Pennington.

Memorials can be made through the funeral home to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Hennessey or Our Daily Bread, in Delores’ name.

    Deanna was born Sept. 4, 1940, in Hammon, Okla., to Dale Boone and Naomi “Toots” (Albright) Graybill and passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Weatherford Regional Hospital.
    Deanna was raised on the family farm in Leedey, Okla., where she attended Leedey Public Schools and graduated in 1958. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford and graduated with degrees in both business and mathematics.
    Deanna began her teaching career at Seiling Public Schools in 1961.

    Loren was born in Lovell on April 28, 1930, to Jack and Velma Sample Pollard and died Monday July 21, 2014, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Enid.
    He was a member of Marshall Masonic Lodge, Kingfisher County Cattlemen’s Association, and was on the board of directors of Kingfisher Bank and Trust.

    Our dear wife, mother and grandmother left us on Monday, July 21, 2014. Evelyn was the last of her family of John A. and Mary C. Fuxa.
    Also preceding her was Ernest who died in World war II, Henry, Virgil, Benny and Louise Conrady.
    She is survived by her loving husband, R.A. “Skeeter” and children, Linda and husband Randy Fuller of Enid and son, Dennis Traynor of Waukomis and friend Cindy Zaloudek of Tulsa. Evelyn’s grandchildren of whom she was so proud are Justin and Lauren Traynor of Yukon, Okla., Dr. Megan Traynor of Rochester, Minn., Allison Traynor RN and fiancee’ Cody Daniels of Edmond, Okla., and Stephen Fuller of Oklahoma City.
    Evelyn was born Aug. 11, 1931, in Bison, Okla., and graduated from Wakoumis in 1947. She was basketball homecoming queen, played sports and helped work the family farm.

    Funeral for Gerald E. Murray, 75-year-old Enid resident, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Vernon Lee will officiate. Burial will follow at Enid Cemetery.
    Gerald was born Sept. 12, 1938, in Enid, Okla., to Lee and Jesse (Campbell) Murray and died Monday, July 21, 2014, at his home in Enid.
    At age 16, Gerald started working for the Frisco Railroad, which later became Burlington Northern. He served in many capacities with the railroad, retiring after 38 years of service.
    He served in the National Guard.
    On Aug. 24, 1959, he married Lois Colvard in Aurora, Mo. The couple made their home in Enid, where he attended Gospel Light Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman, liked playing card games and listening to music. But he mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.

    Funeral service for Duglas Earl Roach, 68, of Dacoma, will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2014, at Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva, followed by a private interment.
    Duglas Earl of Dacoma, Okla., was born to Vynone (Pullan) and Floyd Roach on August 8, 1945 in Alva, Okla. He passed away on July 19, 2014, in Oklahoma City at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 11 days.
    Duglas attended The Alva School System until he joined the Army on Sept. 11, 1962, later receiving his GED while with USAR Control GP (Reinforcement) USA Admin Center St. Louis, Mo., and Btry A 4th Msl Bn (MH) 7th Arty Bergstrom AFB Texas ARADCOM and was discharged on Sept. 30, 1965.
    On July 3, 1992, he was married to Clara Mathews in Globe, Ariz.
