Kenneth Duane Rodenberg

MESA, AZ — Kenneth Duane Rodenberg, 89, passed away after a month-long illness on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, in Mesa, Ariz.

Kenneth was born Aug. 23, 1923, to Ervin and Emma (Seba) Rodenberg of Drummond.

He attended bar school and graduated from Drummond High School in 1941.

He served in the U.S. Army Corps during the war and spent 18 months in Guam.

After returning from the service he married Gloria Jean (Gramlich) Rodenberg on Nov. 9, 1946.

They made their home in Drummond, where he was a farmer and rancher for over 40 years. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Drummond, served on the local Drummond School Board, was a member of the Lions Club, an amateur radio operator and served as a board member at the OT Autry Technical School in Enid, OKla.

He retired from farming in 1984, where he and Gloria traveled in a 5th-wheel trailer. They spent over 25 years in the winter Good Life RV Resort in Mesa, Ariz. He recently, in June 2012, moved to Mesa to be near his daughter, Karen.

Ken was an avid golfer, where at the age of 80, made his first hole in one. He loved being on the computer and he loved telling stories and singing songs that would always make people laugh.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen of Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, David and wife Mitzi of Drummond, and Jim and wife Beverly of Owasso, Okla.; one sister-in-law, Pat (Gramlich) Lamons of Keller, Texas; and his good life companion for the past seven years, Janis Trieschmann of Maple Valley, Wash. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces and many great-nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was proceeded in death by his wife, Gloria; his parents, Ervin and Emma Rodenberg; and two nephews.

A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, in Good Life RV Resort. He will be returned to Oklahoma for his final resting place in Del Norte Cemetery at a later date.

Contributions in his honor can be made to Drummond Salem United Methodist Church.

    Frances “Sis” was born April 29, 1925, to Bruce and Nellie Fauchier Jones in Brownville, Texas, and passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014.
    She grew up in the Harmony community, southwest of Hennessey and attended Victory and Hennessey schools.
    Frances was a member of Harmony Church.

  • H. Kenneth 'Kenny' Miller

    H. Kenneth “Kenny” Miller, 92, of Welda, Kan., formerly of Garfield County, Okla., died Friday, July 18, 2014.
    Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church in Aliceville, Kan.
    He was born in Garfield County and married Norma Fay Wyman in 1941, in Douglas. They farmed in Covington until 1946. She died in 1989.
    Survivors include a sister, Mary Lou Beopple of Garfield County.

    Rick graduated from Fairview High School as Valedictorian in 1974. After graduation, he attended Oklahoma State University, graduating with honors. Rick was on the honor roll every year he attended OSU. While attending school at OSU, he was involved with the initial planning stages of the Glass Mountain State Park, northwest of Fairview.  He traveled to London, England, often, where he loved to spend time and loved anything to do with plants, gardening and flowers.
