Wayne Owen Webb

Published 3-24-13

ENID — Funeral service for Wayne Owen Webb, 74, will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, in the chapel of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeff Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in Newkirk Cemetery.

Wayne was born March 17, 1939, in Arkansas City, Kan., to Virgil and Wilda Webb and passed on Thursday, March 21, 2013.

He attended school at Arkansas City, graduating in 1957.

Wayne worked all his life in farming, ranching and the oil field. He worked as a driller up to the summer of 2012, when he was once again injured on the job and lost full function of his hand, which needed an operation. He intended to return back to the oil field after the surgery.

If anyone knew Wayne, no one always agreed with him, but everyone had to love him! He enjoyed mowing, fishing, traveling Colorado, working and getting dirty.

Wayne married Mitsi Alsip Dec. 18, 1958. To this union was born John Lee, Gerald Dewayne, Melody Ann and Mark Owen. After all is said and done, it has reached its highest point, LOVE.

He married Sherry Crawford Kehnemund in 1987. They resided in Ames, Okla. He helped raise Candie, Melanie and Mandy. As a family, they enjoyed birthday parties, basketball games, farming with Bob and Louise Crawford as a hired hand, and many first and lasts with a lot of laughter as well as tears.

Sherry and Wayne enjoyed playing cards, and hauling wheat in the dead of heat with no A/C to the elevators.

Sherry and Wayne divorced only to re-unite again later, where they resided in Lahoma, Okla. Melanie was his caregiver until December 2012. Then his loving companion, Robin Roush of Lahoma, took good care of him, and a spark was ignited. He enjoyed the company of her dogs, Molly and Murphy, and Robin’s daughter, Erin Roush.

Wayne is survived by two sons, Gerald Webb (Marsha) of Tulsa and their children, Jason Johnson and Ginger Williams; Mark Webb (Arminda) of Singapore and their son, Markus; daughter, Melody White (Tim) of Jenks and their children, Lori and Jennifer; former wife, Sherry Kendall; three stepdaughters, Candice Blalock (Steve) of Watauga, Texas, and their children, Taylor, Colton and Colby; Melanie Powers (Stephen) of Meno and their children, Ashley, Justyn, Kendyl and Samantha; Amanda Waller (Brandon) of Haltom City, Texas, and their children, Alexander, Jeremiah and Ava; nephew, Ronye Gates; great-niece, Rhonda; and great-nephews, Sam and Frankie Gates; niece, Becky Gates Weathers; great-nephews, Chad and Garrett Weathers; loving companion, Robin Rousch; and numerous friends and co-workers.

He was preceded in death by son, John Lee Webb in 1975; parents, Virgil and Wilda Webb; brother, Kenneth Webb; sister, Goldie Webb Gates; and nephew, Dayle Wilson.

Memorials may be made to OMRF, Melanoma division.
