ENID, Okla. —
Mass of Christian burial for Louis Rother is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Holy Trinity Church in Okarche. Revs. William Lewis, Marvin Leven and Deacon Max Schwarz will officiate. Burial in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Arrangements by Huber-Benson Funeral Home, El Reno, Okla.
Louis was born Oct. 18, 1933, in Okarche the son of Frank A. and Elizabeth (Schlecht) Rother and died Friday, May 3, 2013, at Cimarron Nursing Center, Kingfisher.
Louis lived his entire life in the same house, on the farm southwest of Okarche. A farmer, rancher and mechanic, he was a member of Holy Trinity Church, Knights of Columbus and Catholic Order of Foresters. He enjoyed traveling, attending basketball games and most of all, spending time with family and friends. He never met a stranger.
On April 22, 1958, Louis and Alice (Zelnicek) Rother were married in Bison, Okla., recently celebrating 55 years of marriage. Alice survives him in death.
Louis is also survived by a son, Max Rother of Okarche; daughters, Donna Rother of El Reno and Kathy Higgins and husband Wes, also of El Reno; grandchildren, Klint Rother and wife Saybra, and Scott Rother.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bernard Rother, Franz Rother, Paul Rother and Robert Rother; and a sister, Margaret Murphy.
