ENID, Okla. —
Funeral service for Owen F. Davison will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Alva. Rev. Ron Pingelton, pastor, will officiate.
Interment will be in Whitehorse Cemetery. Arrangements by Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva.
Owen Franklin, son of Ruth (Jones) and Frank Davison, was born Dec. 20, 1925, on the farm near Whitehorse. He passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, at OU Medical Trauma Unit, Oklahoma City, at the age of 87 years, 10 months and 6 days.
He attended the Farry School System, graduating from high school in 1944.
On July 31, 1944, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea during WWII, and Ready Reserve, retiring after 311⁄2 years.
On July 15, 1944, he married Mary Tidwell in Woods County. To their marriage, three children, Karen, Delores and Kenneth Owen were born.
He married Veta Stocking May 23, 1975, in Raton, N.M.
Following their marriage, they made their home in Alva, where Owen was a member of Alva First Christian Church, Alva Elks and Alva Moose Lodge, and Black Wing Post of VFW.
Mr. Davison was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Owen; his parents; a brother, Raymon; and a stepdaughter, Brenda Jacobson.
Owen is survived by his wife, Veta; two daughters and their husbands, Karen and Bob Allen, and Delores and Bob Nearn; eight stepchildren; a sister, Mary Lou (Max) Murrow; three brothers, Bob (Jo), Dean, and Jim (Marilyn); a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Alva Black Wing Post of the VFW.
