Raymond Dean 'Ray' Coulter

Okeene, OK — OKEENE — Funeral service for Raymond Dean “Ray” Coulter, 81, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Timberlake High School Auditorium, Helena, with his son, Pastor Len Ray Coulter, officiating. Burial will be in Good Hope Cemetery, near Helena. Arrangements are by Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Helena. Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 11, at the funeral home with family present from 6-8 p.m. Memories may be shared with the family at

Ray was born April 6, 1932, near McWillie, the youngest of 11 children of parents, Ernest J. Coulter and Annie McCray Coulter. He passed from this life on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at his home near Okeene.

Ray graduated from eighth grade at McWillie in 1946, and from high school at Helena in 1950.

He and Winnie Krob were married in Alva on May 21, 1951. They had three children, Len Ray, Loretta and Myron.

Then on May 12, 1972, he and Marilyn Woodard were married, and Ray became dad to three more children, Bonnie, James and Trish.

Ray was self-employed as an advertising specialist and had proudly completed 51 years of service doing his job last October. He also raised miniature horses for many years. He had a country band and played at the Elks and American Legion for many years.

Ray was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed his extended family of nieces and nephews as well many friends.

Those who have preceded him in death are his parents and all of his brothers and sisters, Everette, Harold, Bertha, Clyde, Glenn, Pearl, Hazel, Opel, Loren “Spud” and Lawrence.

Those remaining who will cherish Ray’s memory are his wife, Marilyn; his children, Len Ray and Vicki Coulter, Loretta Coulter, Myron and Debbie Coulter, Bonnie and Tom Troutt, James and Laura Opitz and Trish States; 16 grandchildren, Brice, Carrie, Miranda, Jason, Brian, Lindsay, Lacey, Abby, Emily, Ethan, Chealsey, Dakota, Austin, Seth, Chloe and Josh; 17 great-grandchildren, Jesse, Zakk, Ashley, Ryan, Kaylee, Blake, Aubrey, Jude, Kelsey, Keegan, Owen, Emma, Birdie, Kyle, Charley, Bryson and Liam; numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Lotus Coulter; best friend and guitar playing buddy, Jack Ritter.

Memorials may be made to Disabled Veterans of Foreign Wars or Oklahoma Medical Research, arthritis division, through the funeral home.

    Frances “Sis” was born April 29, 1925, to Bruce and Nellie Fauchier Jones in Brownville, Texas, and passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014.
    She grew up in the Harmony community, southwest of Hennessey and attended Victory and Hennessey schools.
    Frances was a member of Harmony Church.

    H. Kenneth “Kenny” Miller, 92, of Welda, Kan., formerly of Garfield County, Okla., died Friday, July 18, 2014.
    Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church in Aliceville, Kan.
    He was born in Garfield County and married Norma Fay Wyman in 1941, in Douglas. They farmed in Covington until 1946. She died in 1989.
    Survivors include a sister, Mary Lou Beopple of Garfield County.

    Rick graduated from Fairview High School as Valedictorian in 1974. After graduation, he attended Oklahoma State University, graduating with honors. Rick was on the honor roll every year he attended OSU. While attending school at OSU, he was involved with the initial planning stages of the Glass Mountain State Park, northwest of Fairview.  He traveled to London, England, often, where he loved to spend time and loved anything to do with plants, gardening and flowers.
