Indian Land, S.C. — INDIAN LAND, S.C. — Mr. Philip Lee Morgan, 66, died Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Spring’s Memorial Hospital, Lancaster, S.C.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 6525 Old Monroe Road, Indian Trail, N.C. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Graveside service, with full military honors, will follow at 2 p.m. in Hillcrest Cemetery, Mt. Holly, N.C.

Mr. Morgan was born Nov. 29, 1946, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of the late Roy Lee and Evelyn Dunn Morgan.

He was a 1965 graduate of Van Horn High School and retired as a master sergeant with the United States Air Force in the area of Airfield Management and Operations. He served from 1965 until 1990. While in service, he received the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, and the Distinguished Presidential Unit Citation, among many others.

Following retirement from the Air Force, he was associated with Walmart from 1989 until 2008.

Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife, Patricia Joyce Morgan; children, Laurie Hill and husband Raymond of Enid, Okla., Kim Massoth and husband Chad of Waverly, Kan., Jessica Grace and husband Everett of Helena, Okla., Gina Austin and husband Todd of Indian Land, S.C., and Jade Morgan and Sierra Morgan, both of the home; brother, Richard Morgan and wife Norma of Independence, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
