ENID, Okla. — Funeral service for Helen P. Rainey, 95, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home, with Rev. Rick Hermansen officiating. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery.  

Helen was born to Walter H. and Anna (Chaloupek) Eastin on Aug. 16, 1917, in Arkansas City, Kan., and passed away Friday, May 3, 2013, in Oklahoma City.

Helen grew up in Enid and graduated from Enid High School in 1934.

She married G. Austin Rainey on Feb. 14, 1935.  They made their home in Mooreland for several years before returning to Enid. They raised a family of two daughters and one son.

Mr. Rainey’s job with the U.S. Air Force took the family to bases in Oklahoma, Montana and Arkansas.

Helen was a homemaker and worked tirelessly in community churches throughout her life. She was a member of Davis Park Christian Church.

Helen is survived by daughter, Helenanne Williams; son, Charles Rainey; six grandchildren, James and Vicki Williams, Robert and Stephanie Williams, Dean and Robin Williams, David and Cathy Williams, Troy Shoemaker, Douglas and Melissa Shoemaker.; 13 great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980; daughter, Morla Shoemaker in 1988; and grandson, Danny Shoemaker in 1996.

Memorials are to Cookson Hills Children Home.

     De was born June 2, 1926, in Medford, the son of George Alexander and Myrtle Biby Hamilton. De graduated from Gore High School. He entered the U.S. Navy on July 3, 1944 and was discharged on June 13, 1946. After De returned to Medford, he and Emma Jean Carrier were married on Sept. 29, 1946, in Nash. De worked as a butcher and retired in 1989. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Medford and was ordained as a Deacon in 1951.
