Marylee Faye Hall

SAPULPA, OK — Memorial service for Marylee Faye Hall, 90, of Sapulpa, Okla., will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2015, at Forest Hills Baptist Church. The Rev. Louis Speck will officiate. Graveside service will be in Banner Cemetery. Her son, David Hall, will officiate. Service is under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

She was born Nov. 1, 1923, to Arthur Lee and Lizzie Faye (Jett) Stanfill, east of Dover, Okla., in Kingfisher County, and passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014, in Tulsa.

She spent the last 12 hours of her life praying out loud for her loved ones and friends. When she finished her prayer she went to sleep and woke up in Heaven.

She attended Banner school and Hennessey Public Schools. She attended college in Miami, Okla., and Fort Worth, Texas.

She married Harold A. Hall Dec. 12, 1940.

During World War II, while Harold was in Europe, she was a professional singer. She was ready to sign a contract with a major record label when Harold telegraphed saying he was headed home. They served the Lord together for more than 45 years and were married for more than 60 years.

She was a chaplain at Kenwood Manor and Living Center, both in Enid. She was society editor for three newspapers, activity director at McIntosh Nursing Home, and site manager at Wheatheart Nutrition in Waukomis for five years.

She was the mission action director for Oklahoma Baptist Women for four years. Much of her personal ministry was teaching adults to read and write and teaching others how to do the same. She was a member of Liberty Southern Baptist Church, until she moved to Sapulpa, where she was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, David Lee and wife Fina Hall of Austin, Texas, and John Earl and wife Connie Hall of Sapulpa, Okla.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Tuck Fielding of Lake City, Fla.; sister, Lola Whithead of Sapulpa, Okla.; and aunt, Edna Groves Mills of Houston, Texas.

She was preceded by her husband, Harold A. Hall, and infant son, Jeremiah.

Memorials may be given to Liberty Southern Baptist Church; Forest Hills Baptist Church, Sapulpa; or Gideon’s International, with her son John E. Hall serving as custodian of the funds.

    She is survived by her parents, Raymond and Ann Meritt; children, Arick and Allison Weaver; stepchildren, Alec and Austin Weaver; brother, James Meritt, all of Wichita.
    Mathresa was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Everett and Ruby Meritt and maternal grandparents, Bob and Vivian Yoho.

    Frances “Sis” was born April 29, 1925, to Bruce and Nellie Fauchier Jones in Brownville, Texas, and passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014.
    She grew up in the Harmony community, southwest of Hennessey and attended Victory and Hennessey schools.
    Frances was a member of Harmony Church.

  • H. Kenneth 'Kenny' Miller

    H. Kenneth “Kenny” Miller, 92, of Welda, Kan., formerly of Garfield County, Okla., died Friday, July 18, 2014.
    Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church in Aliceville, Kan.
    He was born in Garfield County and married Norma Fay Wyman in 1941, in Douglas. They farmed in Covington until 1946. She died in 1989.
    Survivors include a sister, Mary Lou Beopple of Garfield County.

    Rick graduated from Fairview High School as Valedictorian in 1974. After graduation, he attended Oklahoma State University, graduating with honors. Rick was on the honor roll every year he attended OSU. While attending school at OSU, he was involved with the initial planning stages of the Glass Mountain State Park, northwest of Fairview.  He traveled to London, England, often, where he loved to spend time and loved anything to do with plants, gardening and flowers.
