ENID, Okla. —
A private family graveside service for Margaret R. Speece, 92-year-old Enid, Okla., resident, will be held Saturday, April 19, 2014, in Restland Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Margaret was born Nov. 9, 1921, in Fayetteville, Ark., to Elam W. and Margaret (Barnes) Jackson and died peacefully at Golden Oaks Nursing Home on Sunday, April 13, 2014.
Her family moved to Ponca City, Okla., where she graduated from Ponca City High School. She was active in the high school choir, the study of the piano and a member of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls. Upon graduation, she attended Oklahoma State University.
On Dec. 1, 1952, she married James Speece in Fort Smith, Ark. The couple owned and operated several jewelry stores across the southwest.
She is survived by her daughters, Eula and Charles Axe and Rene’ and Dr. Francisco Dexeus of Enid; son, James Speece and wife Karen of Enid; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, and one son, Robert Clark.
Memorials may be made to OBA Tuition Assistance Endowment with Henninger-Hinson acting as custodian of the funds.
