ENID, Okla. —
Funeral service for Morris Glenn Phillips, 78, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Elder Herb Castor and Elder Manuel Beckner of General Assembly Church of the Firstborn. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Morris was born to Frank and Joanna (Williams) Phillips on May 14, 1934, in Dover and passed away peacefully Sunday, April 21, 2013, at his home in Enid.
Morris moved to Enid in the ’50s, where he held several jobs, including Olson Animal Hospital, and was a patrolman for the city of Enid.
Morris married Geneva (Cothrine) Shaver Dec. 22, 1962.
In 1977, he started his own businesses, Genny’s Little Doll House Child Care Center and Phillips’ Lawn and Firewood Service.
Morris was preceded in death by his parents, nine brothers, two sisters, a son, and one daughter.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva of the home; son, Darrell; three daughters, Glendolyn, Darlene (Steve), and Carmelita (Marty); sister, Norma Jean (Dennis) Baker of Oklahoma City; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and adopted daughter, Lanita Pedican of El Reno.
