Funeral service for Ernest J. Fuksa, 91, formerly of Hennessey, will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hennessey. Father Joseph Arledge will officiate. Burial will follow in Bison Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Wake service is 7 p.m. today, May 23, 2013, at the funeral home.
Ernie passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Greenbrier Living Center. He was born June 14, 1921, in Bison to James J. and Rose (Hromas) Fuksa.
After serving his country in the U.S. Army overseas, he farmed on a farm that was on the Garfield/Kingfisher county line. He also was employed with Sid Smith Welding in Hennessey and Hackney Iron & Steel in Enid. Later, Ernie worked as a carpenter for Larry McClure.
On June 4, 1945, Ernie married Anna Linhart at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Bison, and together, would have celebrated their 67th anniversary this year.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Adolph, Stanley and Wilfred.
Ernie is survived by his loving wife, Anna; godchildren, Alma Reinert, Wilma Fuksa, Karen North and Patty Savage; two sisters-in-law, Kay Linhart and Carol Fuksa; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be given through the funeral home to St. Joseph Catholic Church of Hennessey.
