COVINGTON, OK —
Funeral for Kenneth Henson Smith, 88-year-old Covington resident, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tommy Donaldson will officiate. Burial will follow in North Lions Cemetery, near Marshall.
Kenneth was born March 20, 1925, in Ramona, Okla., to Julius and Martha (Henson) Smith and died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at Greenbrier Nursing Home.
After his parents’ death, he was raised by an uncle and aunt, Charles and Pearl Allton, in Claremore, Okla.
On Oct. 13, 1945, he married Elreta Cline. They lived in the Covington area all their married life. He was employed at Champlin Refinery in Enid for 33 years.
Kenneth enjoyed fishing, traveling and collecting antiques.
He is survived by his wife, Elreta of the home; two sons, Jerry and wife Carolyn of Enid, and Duane and wife Melody of Lucien; four grandchildren, Deidra Gerdes and husband Greg of Enid, Troy Smith and wife Ashley of Edmond, Dustin Smith and wife Carri of Covington, and Brian Smith and wife Tiffany of Covington; 10 great-grandsons; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and two brothers.
