Donald Gene Jantzen

JACKSONVILLE, FL — Donald Gene Jantzen, 63, of Jacksonville, Fla., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 25, 2013. He was born July 10, 1949, in Enid, Okla., to the late Fred and Josie Jantzen.

He graduated from Enid High School in 1967.

He joined the Navy in 1970. He retired as an AO Master Chief.

He then returned to college at the University of North Florida, receiving a bachelor’s degree in logistics.

He loved riding his Harley and spending time in Colorado and in the Rockies. One of his favorite trips was riding his motorcycle to the summit of Rocky Mountain National Park with his wife.

Don leaves behind his loving wife of 41 years, Pam (Gates); sons, Sean (Tammy), Brett (Jacquette) and Craig Borenstein of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Jordon, Tiyana, Anthony, Aaron and Mikayla; his precious sister, Esther Brown of Enid, Okla.; and numerous extended family and friends.

He loved the Lord with all his heart. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of his life was held Saturday, March 30, 2013.

    Funeral service for DeLawrence “De” Hamilton will be Saturday, April 19, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Medford. The Rev. Bob Smith and the Rev. Jonathan Gilliland will officiate.      De was born June 2, 1926, in Medford, the son of George Alexander and Myrtle Biby Hamilton. De graduated from Gore High School. He entered the U.S. Navy on July 3, 1944 and was discharged on June 13, 1946. After De returned to Medford, he and Emma Jean Carrier were married on Sept. 29, 1946, in Nash. De worked as a butcher and retired in 1989. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Medford and was ordained as a Deacon in 1951.
