ENID, Okla. —
Wesley James Sharpton, 26, died on Friday, May 3, 2013, in Kansas City, Kan.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. today, May 7, 2013, at Strode Funeral Home Chapel, Stillwater, Okla. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Wesley was born Oct. 19, 1986, in Stillwater, Okla., to James and Donna Jean (Guy) Sharpton.
After graduation, he joined the United States Army, but, due to health complications, he was honorably discharged shortly afterwards.
He worked as a dry wall installer at Huerta’s Drywall. Wesley enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing blackjack and camping, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his nephews. He was also an avid fan of KU Basketball and the KC Chiefs.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Don Guy of Enid, Okla.; grandparents, Richard and Sylvia Spaulding, of Arcadia, Okla.; and great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Asuncion Huerta and Mr. and Mrs. James Sharpton, all of Stillwater, Okla.
He is survived by his parents of Linwood, Kan.; brother, Anthony S. Sharpton; grandparents, Dr. James and Dr. Lois Sharpton of Pitkin, Colo.; grandparents, Mary and Max Burckalter of Enid, Okla.; nephews, Ayden and Steven Sharpton; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
