ENID, Okla. —
Memorial service for Velda C. Baker, 75, of Enid, will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Bruce Johnson officiating. Inurnment will follow in Timberlake Cemetery, Jet, Okla.
Velda was born Aug. 24, 1937, in Cherokee, Okla., the daughter of Robert and Lydia Mae Guthrie Baker Sr. and passed away Friday, March 22, 2013.
For a time she was employed by Safeway Food stores and has always had a good reputation for being dependable to finish any task given.
Velda shared the gifts given to her with others, which included beautiful needlework and detailed attention to her gardening. She was a faithful member of the Enid First Nazarene Church.
Survivors include a brother, Doyle Baker and wife Debbie of Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and her very special sister-in-law, Mary Beth Baker of Enid, who was always there for her and took tender care of her throughout her life, along with Wendall, her nephew and guardian.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, J.C. and Robert Baker Jr.; and two sisters, Edna Mae Baker and Wanda Baker.
Memorial contributions may be made to Enid First Nazarene Church, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
