ENID, Okla. — Funeral service for Doris Daughhetee will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014, at Lanman Funeral Home Chapel, Cherokee, with Dale Schurter officiating.  Burial will follow in Keith Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at Viewing will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday, March 30, with family present from 4-6 p.m.

Doris Ann Daughhetee, daughter of Vernon and Marie Kisling Schurter, was born Oct. 30, 1938, in Alfalfa County, northeast of Burlington, Okla. She passed away Monday, March 24, 2014, at Share Convalescent Home, Alva, at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 24 days.

She attended school in Burlington, graduating with the class of 1956.

On Jan. 14, 1956, she married Jesse Dale (J.D.) Daughhetee.

She lived in the Burlington area, with her husband her entire life. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Burlington Co-op for 10 years.

During her life, she traveled with her husband and visited most of the 50 states, plus Canada and Mexico. The highlight of her travels was a seven-day cruise to Alaska. Her main focus in life was always her family. Her children and grandchildren and their endeavors were of utmost importance to her.

Preceding her in death are were parents and one sister, Rose Marie Finley.

She is survived by her husband, J.D. Daughhetee of Burlington; two brothers, Dale Schurter and wife Mona of Wadsworth, Ohio, and Sam Schurter and wife Marilyn of Burlington, Okla.; one sister, Darlene Brown and husband L.D of Anaheim, Calif.; one son, Monte Daughhetee and wife Laurie (Fish) of Brentwood, Calif.; two daughters, Shelly Brown and husband Stephen of St. Paul, Minn., and Cheryl Peace and husband J.J of Manitou Springs, Colo.; 14 grandchildren, Derek Daughhetee, Dylan Daughhetee and wife Monica, Magdalena Fish, Benjamin Fish, Molly Brown, Stephen Brown Jr., Caleb Brown, Levi Brown, Joseph Brown, Hunter Peace, Lydia Peace, Madeline Peace and Wyatt Peace; and a host of family and friends.
