WAKITA, OK — Virginia Carol Arnold was born March 10, 1930, in Lakeview, Texas, to Curtis Alexander Wylie and Mattie Elizabeth (Eaton) Wylie and died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at her home in Wakita, Okla.

She lived in the Dallas, Texas, and Pampa, Texas, area. During World War II she lived in Richmond, Calif. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1948. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.

She married Glen L. Arnold on Nov. 12, 1951. They moved to the Sand Creek, Okla., area in February 1967. She worked for the Medford and Wakita nursing homes.

She is survived by three sons, Terry Arnold and wife Janice of Oklahoma City, Okla., Larry Arnold and wife Charlotte of Enid, Okla., and Barry Arnold and wife April of Billings, Okla.; three grandchildren, Kimberly and Jarred Brummer of Overland Park, Kan., Derrick Arnold of Miami, Mo., and Justin Arnold of Anthony, Kan.; three great-grandchildren, Kingsley Arnold and Briley and Bryce Brummer; sister, Mary Stembridge and husband Don of Granbury, Texas; an aunt, Ruth Evans of Napa, Calif; several nieces, nephews, stepgrandchildren and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen Arnold; and brother, Curtis Wylie.

Donations can be made to donor’s favorite charity.

Memorial service for Virginia Carol Arnold, 84, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Bethel-Hawley Baptist Church, north of Nash. The Rev. Gary Lillie will officiate. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.
