    The funeral service for Mr. George W. “Bill” Athey, 76, of Enid will be 10 a.m., Friday, July 11, 2014, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. The Reverend Dr. Douglas Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park.  Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
    He was born on Oct. 5, 1937, to George W. and Elizabeth E. (Cansler) Athey in Enid, Okla., and passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014.
    Bill Athey was a family man, a visionary and an avid believer in the Enid community. He attended Enid schools and graduated from Enid High School in 1955. He attended the University of Oklahoma, where he earned his degree in business. He married Linda Gholston in 1963.
    Bill put his degree to use and became the principal owner in two thriving Enid businesses, Security National Bank and Athey Lumber Company. In 1959, he was appointed to the board of directors of the Security National Bank of Enid and began working as a bank teller the following year. In 1979, George W. Athey was named president and CEO of the Security National Bank of Enid. At the time of his death, Bill was the chairman of the Security National Bank board of directors.

    The funeral service for Mr. Harold Lloyd Diller, 84, of Enid, will be 2 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2014, at the Church of God and Prophecy, Enid.
    Brother Gene Love will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery, Nash. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
    He was born on July 28, 1929, to Lloyd Jacob and Bonnie Joy (Posey) Diller on the family farm west of Nash, Okla., and passed away on July 4, 2014, in Enid.
    He attended grade school in Paoli, near Wynnewood. He later moved to Enid where he began working for Peerless Ice Cream at age 15.
    He graduated from Enid High School in 1947. He married Juanita Ruby Rainbolt on April 8, 1950, in Enid.
    He worked for Peerless Ice Cream for 40 years, also Failings and for the Enid newspaper.

    The funeral for Tracy Hardin, 49, Hennessey, will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2014, at First United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Jimmy Berkenbile and the Rev. Dr. Jim Hill.
    Burial will follow at Hennessey Cemetery under the direction of Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home.
    Tracy was born at Duncan on Nov. 12, 1964, to Floyd J. and Gail Clinkenbeard Hardin, and died Monday, July 7, 2014, east of Fairview.
    He married Cheri Marsh in Las Vegas on Oct. 10, 2010. Tracy was a member of Hennessey Lions Club.
    He is survived by his wife, Cheri, of the home; one daughter, Amber Vanderhoff and husband, Bob of Hennessey; two sons, Layton Hardin of Austin, Texas, Conrad Hardin of Lakeland, Fla.; parents, Floyd and Gail Hardin; three brothers, Brent Hardin and wife, Deb, Wes Hardin and wife, Linda, Dagan Hardin and wife, Lezlie; paternal grandmother, Jeanita Richardson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Glenda Marsh, all of Hennessey; their dog Carly and cats Paisley and Ziggy.

    The memorial service for Mr. John Daniel Steele, 63, of Enid, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014, in the Grace World Outreach Church, 2502 W. Elm. John Chambers will officiate.
    An informal celebration of life service will follow at 4 p.m. at Turpin Theater (Gaslight Theatre) for friends and family to share their music and memories of John. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
    He was born on Aug. 3, 1950, to Johnny P. and Dorothy June (Gritz) Steele in Enid, Okla., and passed away on July 4, 2014.
    He attended Enid Public Schools and graduated from Enid High School in 1969. He began playing drums when he was 13 years old and developed a lifelong love for music.
    During his junior high and high school years and shortly after, he played with several bands, including Poverty’s Children, before moving to Houston, where he continued to play drums for various groups including Orpheus, which was signed with AVC Record Label and recorded at Mickey Gilley’s studio.

    Max Stewart Long, 83, of Enid, Okla., went to be with his Lord on Monday, July 7, 2014.
    Max is survived by his wife, Verla Long; children, Ken Laye (wife Mitzi) of Weatherford, Texas, Linda Taylor (husband Jeff) of Enid, Okla., Tammy Qualls (husband Steve) of Austin, Texas, and Tim Long (wife Julie) of Owasso, Okla.; sister, Juanita Westfahl of Okeene; brother, Keith Long (wife Judy) of Canton; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Max was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Beulah Long; his brother, Cletus Long; and three grandsons.
    Max was born in Longdale, Okla., on July 4, 1931.
