WAUKOMIS — Graveside service for Mr. Thomas W. Milacek, 92, of Waukomis, will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2013, at Waukomis Cemetery. Pastor David Jones of Waukomis Christian Church will officiate. Graveside military honors will be conducted by the United States Army. Service is under direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

He was born November 23, 1920, to Anton and Millie Taborsky Milacek in Waukomis, OK, and passed away June 11, 2013, in Enid.

He grew up in Waukomis and graduated from Pleasant Valley School. He served in the United States Army and fought in WWII. He was a squadron leader in the Army infantry division and was in battle campaigns in Ryukyus, Southern Philippines, Okinawa and Leyte. Following his discharge, he returned to Waukomis and farmed southwest of Waukomis.  

He married Marcella D. Landwehr January 31, 1948, in Enid.

He is survived by his sons, Dale Milacek of Waukomis and Larry Milacek of Drummond; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella, and one brother, Albert.

Memorials may be given to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center or Waukomis Fire Department.
