COVINGTON, OK —
Funeral service for Esther Simpson, 96, of Covington, Okla., will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Covington First Baptist Church, with the Revs. Jody Schmidt and Phillip Gregg officiating. Burial will be in Covington Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation with family will be 5:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at Anderson-Burris.
Esther was born to Fred and Regina (Diede) Boepple on Jan. 5, 1918, in Covington, Okla., and passed away Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at her home in Covington.
She attended Covington schools.
On Oct. 12, 1935, she married Kenneth Simpson. They resided in the Covington-Garber area, where Esther was a homemaker and also a cook at Covington schools. She was a member of Gospel Center and attended Covington First Baptist Church.
Esther enjoyed working in her garden, canning, clipping coupons and being with family. She was known for her cinnamon rolls.
Esther is survived by three daughters, Patsy Wilhite, Linda Wilson and Donna (Billy) Burroughs; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Kenneth in 2006; five brothers; three sisters; son-in-law, Larry Wilson; and grandson, Paul Griffin.
