ENID, Okla. —
Leona K. Woodman, 91, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, in Kiowa, Kan.
Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at First Christian Church, Cherokee, Okla., with Pastor Tom Stanley officiating. Strode Funeral Home of Stillwater, Okla., is in charge of arrangements.
Leona was born Sept. 3, 1922, in Moorewood, Okla., to Leslie Wayne and Daisy (Eaton) Kenney.
She attended school in Leedey, Okla., and went to business school in Sayer, Okla.
On Jan. 3, 1947, she married Joe Woodman in Elk City, Okla. They were together until his death in 1998.
She worked as a legal secretary and was a member of First Christian Church. She also was a member of the Philanthropic Education Organization, Eastern Star and ESA sorority.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Daisy Kenney; husband, Joe Woodman; three sisters; and one brother.
She is survived by her daughters, Ann Welsh and husband Lyle of Fulshear, Texas, and Mary Holderby and husband Stephen of Amorita, Okla.; sister, Dollie Wilson of Leedey, Okla.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial contributions may be made in Leona’s name to First Christian Church, Midway Class Scholarship Fund, 202 S. Kansas, Cherokee, OK 73728.
