Larry W. Lewis

LAHOMA, OK — Memorial service for Larry W. Lewis, 71, of Lahoma, Okla., will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Community Bible Church In Green Valley. The Rev. Bill Smith will officiate.

Larry W. Lewis Sr. went home to his Lord on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on Nov. 12, 1942, to William E. and Helen L. Lewis.

His family moved to the San Diego, Calif., area in May 1960. He graduated from Mt. Miguel High School in 1961, where he played football. He attended San Diego State College on a football scholarship, but left to work for his fathers trucking company.

He married the love of his life, Kathy Moore, on March 9, 1963. There are three children to this union. The entire Lewis family moved back to Des Moines, Iowa, in 1965, where they lived for 21 years. During that time Larry owned Lewis Construction Co. Inc. from 1974 to 1985. The family moved back to California in 1986.  Larry and Kathy moved to Lahoma, Okla., in 2004.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.  He is survived by his wife, Kathy of almost 51 years; his children, Larry Lewis Jr. and wife Gina of Enid, Okla., Connie Vos and husband Scott of Allen, Texas, and Donna Dodds and husband Chris of San Diego, Calif.; grandchildren, Eric Lewis, Megan and Brandon Pratt, Elizabeth Vos and Andrew Vos; brothers, Harry Lewis and Bill Lewis; sisters, Mary Dunham and Marie Warren; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

    Funeral service for DeLawrence “De” Hamilton will be Saturday, April 19, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Medford. The Rev. Bob Smith and the Rev. Jonathan Gilliland will officiate.      De was born June 2, 1926, in Medford, the son of George Alexander and Myrtle Biby Hamilton. De graduated from Gore High School. He entered the U.S. Navy on July 3, 1944 and was discharged on June 13, 1946. After De returned to Medford, he and Emma Jean Carrier were married on Sept. 29, 1946, in Nash. De worked as a butcher and retired in 1989. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Medford and was ordained as a Deacon in 1951.
