Dottie “Dot” M. Leslie

ENID, OK — Celebration of Life service for Dottie “Dot” M. Leslie, 91, of Enid, Okla., will be 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Kremlin Community United Methodist Church. The Rev. Michelle D. McCarty will officiate. Service is under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Interment will be held at a later date in Bethany Cemetery, Hermantown, Minn.

She was born in Aberdeen, S.D., on March 24, 1922, to Ralph and Ester Colberg and passed away Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, in Enid.

Dot graduated from St. Lutheran Johnson High School and worked for 3M until she met Lee Leslie. They were married April 9, 1944, in St. Paul, Minn.

Dot was a life member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Duluth, Minn. She moved to Enid to be with her family in July 2009. She attended church at Kremlin United Methodist.

Dottie enjoyed playing bridge and visiting with friends and family for hours. Dottie always liked to say that God gave her the gift of gab. She was a happy woman that prided herself in keeping a presentable house and appearance. She was very excited to finally become a great-grandmother. Her favorite companion of all was her beloved dog, Ginger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee Leslie; a granddaughter, Jessica Austin; and a son-in-law, Ned Austin.

She is survived by her brother, Roger Colberg of Stillwater, Minn.; son, Gary Leslie of San Diego, Calif.; a daughter, Nancy Austin of Enid, Okla.; four grandchildren, Buck Austin of Iowa City, Iowa, Leslie Sissom, Missy Austin and Mike Austin, all of Enid, Okla.; and a great-grandson, Aaron Sissom, also of Enid.

Memorials may be given to the SPCA or Furever Friends with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.

    Funeral service for DeLawrence “De” Hamilton will be Saturday, April 19, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Medford. The Rev. Bob Smith and the Rev. Jonathan Gilliland will officiate.      De was born June 2, 1926, in Medford, the son of George Alexander and Myrtle Biby Hamilton. De graduated from Gore High School. He entered the U.S. Navy on July 3, 1944 and was discharged on June 13, 1946. After De returned to Medford, he and Emma Jean Carrier were married on Sept. 29, 1946, in Nash. De worked as a butcher and retired in 1989. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Medford and was ordained as a Deacon in 1951.
