GARBER — Funeral service for Donald Gene Simpson, 71, of Garber, will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at First Baptist Church, Covington, with Rev. Phillip Gregg officiating. Burial will follow in Blackbear Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Donald was born to Albert Jay and Oval Della (Norris) Simpson on Dec. 27, 1941, in Lucien, and died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Enid.

Donald grew up in the Garber-Covington area.

He worked in the oil field and then at Hackney, retiring after 30 years.

He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Covington.

He is survived by two daughters, Emmaleigh Simpson of Shawnee, and Ashley Simpson of Enid; six grandchildren; and several cousins.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; son, Matthew; two sisters, Martha Honegger and Carolyn Hoback.
