ENID, Okla. —
A memorial service for Montra “Monty” Curtis Smith, age 41, will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013, at First Church of the Nazarene.
Pastor Bruce Johnson and Chaplain Bill Hane will officiate, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Monty was born to Kenneth and Eloise (Waits) Smith on Dec. 28, 1972, in Enid, and passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, in Enid as a result of an automobile accident.
Monty grew up in Enid and graduated from Chisholm High School. He then attended Oklahoma State University, where he was a member of Signa Nu Fraternity. Monty moved to Breckenridge, Colo., where he lived for 15 years.
There he met Tisha Summerhays, and they married on Jan. 12, 2007, in Breckenridge.
After moving back to Enid, Monty worked in the family business at The Garden House, where he loved growing and caring for plants. He enjoyed the outdoors, and loved to fly-fish.
Monty’s pride and joy was his son Owen, and they loved to fish and explore nature together. Monty and his family attended Oakwood Christian Church.
Monty is survived by wife, Tisha, of the home; son, Owen Smith of the home; mother, Eloise Smith of Enid; brother, Doug Smith and wife, Julie, and their son, Dylan, all of Enid; sister, Brenda Hane and husband, Bill, and their sons Aaron and Andrew, all of Piedmont.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth, and brother, Kenton Smith.
