ENID, Okla. —
Funeral service for Thelma Louise Zelnicek, 83, of Enid, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bison, with the Rev. Father Edward Menasco officiating. Burial will follow in Bison Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
She was born April 9, 1930, in Enid to Hubert and Josephine Williams and passed from this life Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, in Enid.
She grew up and attended Enid schools, graduating from Enid High School in 1949.
She married Joe A. Zelnicek Sept. 12, 1950. They lived in Hawaii, where Joe was stationed during the Korean War.
They moved to Bison for a short time until moving to Enid, where the couple made their home and raised their family. They were married for 60 years. Joe passed away Sept. 8, 2010.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, spending time with her family, going to antique shows, OU football games, and above all else was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by daughters, Linda and husband Rick Hockmeyer, Dorothy and husband Walt Cornwell, Mary Knight, and Barbara and husband Bill Tate; sons, Danny and wife Pam Zelnicek, Tom and wife Jan Zelnicek, and Jimmy Zelnicek; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry and Don Williams; and sister, Debbie Crisson.
She was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters, one a twin, Velma; one son, Jerry; one granddaughter, Andrea; one grandson, Chandler; and one son-in-law, Don Knight.
Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice Circle of Love or Oklahoma Medical Research, Alzheimer’s division, with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
