ENID — Formerly of the Drummond/Ames area, Dan departed this life Tuesday, April 2, 2013, in Pueblo, Colo., after a period of illness.

Dan was born July 2, 1944, in rural Lahoma, Okla., to Frank William Crow Sr. and Frances Maurine Turner Crow.

He graduated from Drummond High School Class of 1962.

He was united in marriage to Dorothy Freeman Feb. 25, 1967, in Norfolk, Va. To this union two children were born, Howard Wayne and Jennifer Lynn.

Dan enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1963, served his country for 20 years on the Mississippi, Alderban, Inchon, and the U.S. Holland ships, retiring in 1984. He received the Vietnam Medal of Honor, two Bronze Stars and the Medal of Good Conduct.

He worked in the private sector until he became ill.

Dan is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Pueblo; son, Howard of Virginia Beach; daughter, Jennifer Pacheco and husband John and grandchildren, Dakota, U.S. Navy, Montana, Canyon, Aspen and Chase of Pueblo; sister, Mable Bell of Virginia Beach; brother; John and wife Shirley of Choctaw; brother and sister-in-law, Homer Wentzel and Lora Nell Crow; Aunt Betty Turner and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding him were his parents; sister, Betty Wentzel; and brother, Frank Crow Jr.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, in Ames Cemetery.
