ENID, Okla. —
Funeral service for Joy F. Hager, 81-year-old Enid resident, will be 2 p.m. today, April 3, 2013, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Danny Marney will officiate. Burial will follow in Kremlin Cemetery.
Joy was born Nov. 25, 1931, in Kremlin, Okla., to Ben and Willie (Daniels) Guffey and died Saturday, March 30, 2013, at her home in Enid.
She attended Kremlin schools and graduated from Kremlin High School.
After graduation she moved to Enid, where she was employed at Southwestern Bell as an operator.
On June 8, 1951, she married James Hager in Enid, where the couple made their home. She was a homemaker until 1973, when she went to work at Vance Air Force Base as an PBX Operator for over 20 years. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed needle point and crochet.
She is survived by three daughters, Jobie McCloskey of Paris, Idaho, Jane Puckett and husband Gary of Enid, and Peggy Hager, also of Enid; two sons, Steve Hager and wife Nina of Edmond and Tim Hager of Enid; three grandchildren, Josh Puckett and wife Heidi of Blanchard, Okla., Amy and Mike Castleberry of Enid, and Nate Hager of Edmond. She also is survived by one sister, Betty Thurman of Kremlin, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded by her parents; husband, James; sister, Sally Grimm; and brothers, Don and Dan Guffey.
