Funeral for Paul K. Ketterman, 95, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Revs. Gail Edmison and Jim Edmison and Mr. Dale Cummins will officiate. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Cherokee Cemetery, Cherokee, OK. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Paul was born Jan. 16, 1917, in Rich Hill, MO, the son of Bailey and Mattie Jackson Ketterman, and passed away Jan. 10, 2013, at his residence.
Paul served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII. Paul was a tank commander, serving in the 104th Calvary Recon squadron.
He was united in marriage to Dolly Vickers in 1936, and she passed away in 1971. He then married Emma Tucker in 1972, and she passed away in 2004. Paul then married Susan Hake Wilson Oct. 22, 2005, in North Enid.
He started working at age 11 with his father breaking horses. Paul farmed in Missouri and then moved to Kansas, where he worked in the oil fields. He moved to Oklahoma, where he was employed in base maintenance at Vance Air Force Base.
After his retirement, he performed nuisance trapping on ranches in Osage County, OK. He was a member of New Covenant Fellowship in Goltry, OK, NRA, Oklahoma Trappers Association, DAV and American Legion.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Susan; daughter, Patricia Connolly of Pueblo, CO; numerous grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Groves of Haysville, KS, and Grace Fleener of Camdenton, MO.
Paul was also preceded in death by three sons, Duane E., Jimmy E. and Eddie M.; a daughter, Pauline K. Ketterman; two sisters; and five brothers.
Memorial contributions may be made to Enid SPCA. with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the fund.
