Roy was united in marriage to Dorothy Schmidt on Sept. 23, 1947, in Enid. God gave them four children, but they all died in infancy.

After graduation from Bible College they moved to Plainview, Texas, and started Calvary Baptist Church. After 17 years there, Roy accepted a position with Arlington Baptist College as a teacher and recruiter. The last church he pastored was Messiah Baptist Church in Wichita, Kan., where he served 15 years.
Roy enjoyed keeping a pretty yard and prior to his heart surgery, he piloted small aircraft. During his pastoring he was affectionately known as “Mr. Missions.”
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, and a sister, Sylvia Ray of Ohio.
