ENID — A memorial service for Grace Mary Smith, 88, of Enid, formerly of Omaha, Neb., will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at Bethel AME Church, 2428 Franklin Street, Omaha, Neb. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Grace Mary Turner Smith was born Tuesday, Dec. 16, 1924, in Waycross, Ga., to the loving union of the late Jetsie and Ceola (Hobbs) Turner. She was the oldest of four children. Grace passed away peacefully to the loving embrace of Our Lord on Saturday, March 9, 2013, in Enid, Okla.

Grace was a teacher with Omaha Public Schools, retiring after 20 years of service. After retiring from the Omaha school system she went to work as a Librarian for Creighton University, Law Library.

She is survived by three sons, David and Linda Turner, Enid, Okla., Allen Smith and Daphne, Camerson, N.C., and Willie and Toni Smith, Omaha, Neb.; one brother, Gene and Edith Turner, Omaha, Neb.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of favorite nieces, nephews and Bethel Church family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Turner; sister, Jessie Woods; two daughters, Ceola Smith-Allen and Felicia Tate; and great-grandson, D’Avuis Tate.
