ENID — Memorial service for Ray W. Schoonover, 75, of Enid, will be 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Enid, with Rev. Jerry Holt officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Fargo Cemetery in Fargo, Oklahoma.  Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crema-tory. Visitation for family and friends will be 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at the funeral home.

Ray was born on May 4, 1935, in Sterling, KS, to William David and Juanita Gail (Wright) Schoonover and died on Friday, April 22, 2011, in Enid.

Ray attended school in Ness City, Dodge City and Spearville, KS, and returned to Ness City to graduate from high school. He entered the United States Air Force and served 31⁄2 years active duty and 41⁄2 years inactive duty. On August 18, 1964, he married Rita Pittman. He began preparing tax returns while in the military and continued his income tax practice for 40 years. Ray served as National Big Hat president with the National American Business Club (AMBUCS), state president of Oklahoma Society of Accountants (OSA), member in good standing with National Society of Accountants (NSA), Enid Elks Lodge, Garfield County Red Cross, Society for the Preservation of Barbershop Quartets in America/Enid chapter. Ray attended Liberty Southern Baptist Church.

Ray is survived by his wife, Rita Schoonover, of the home; daughters Toni Cornejo of Goddard, KS, and Sandra Rene Hall of Carrier, OK; grandchildren Tiffany Wilkey, Ashley Glover, Shelby Hall and Riley Hall; great-grandchildren Cole, Cade and Carli Wilkey; sister Joan Danford of Hutchinson, KS; and many friends who will miss him greatly.

He was preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Frankie and Leroy; and two sisters, Betty Keldermand and Dorthy Turner.
