ENID, OK —
Celebration of Life service for Edna Johndrow Jenkins, 95, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Don Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Edna was born Feb. 9, 1918, in Clyde, Okla., to Wilbur and Ida Mae Campbell and died Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, in Enid, Okla., after a long and happy life.
She grew up in Hunter, Okla., and graduated from Hunter High School.
On July 5, 1936, Edna married Clifford Johndrow in Enid. They made their home on the farm, where they raised their four children. Throughout her early life, Edna enjoyed spending much of her time with family and making delicious creations in the kitchen. She was known around the county and state fairs for her prize-winning pies and breads, and known by family as the best cook around.
Edna also enjoyed watching sports, and in her later years, one would always know she would be watching her beloved Panthers, Rangers, Cardinals, Cowboys, Sooners and Thunder.
After enjoying 46 years together, Clifford passed away. Edna found love again and married Forrest Jenkins on Nov. 12, 1983, in Hunter. They made their home on the farm, where Edna welcomed his two children and their families into her life.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands and children, Gary Johndrow and Connie Larson.
Edna is survived by children, Linda Handke, St. George, Utah, and Nancy Ashton, McCall, Idaho; stepchildren, Walter Jenkins, Enid, and Wanda Campbell, Kremlin; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Kendall Campbell, Enid, Randall Campbell, Salt Fork, Okla., Dale Campbell, North Richland Hills, Texas, and Jean Nelson, Whitney, Texas; nieces, nephews and many friends who will miss her greatly.
