ENID, OK —
Funeral for James Edward DeHaas, former Ames resident, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Vernon Lee will officiate.
Burial will follow in Del Norte Cemetery, Drummond.
Visitation with family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
James was born June 28, 1934, to Samuel Lee and Vivian Olive (Pearson) DeHaas in Ames and died January 7, 2014, in Fort Worth, Texas.
He retired from the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lois Yates and Betty Muir; brothers, Leon DeHaas, Vyron DeHaas and Duane DeHaas.
James is survived by children, Greg DeHaas and wife, Margaret; Debbie Butler and husband, Barry, all of Fort Worth, TX; Garvin DeHaas of Ponder, TX; five grandchildren, Darrell Sands, Ponder, TX, Wes Sands, Alvord, TX, Cassi DeHaas, Fort Worth, TX, Madison DeHaas, Ponder, TX, Blake DeHaas, Ponder, TX; six great-grandchildren, Hayden, Toby, Kylie, John, Tripp, Triston; brothers, Kenneth DeHaas and wife, Penny of Smyrna, GA; Bill DeHaas of Ames; sister, Joann Wallace and husband, Mark of Purcell, OK; and sister-in-law, Ruth DeHaas of Ames.
