ENID, Okla. —
Funeral service for Janice Lee Cordell, 77-year-old Enid resident, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Vernon Lee will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Janice was born Jan. 12, 1935, in Enid, Okla., to Byron and Cordelia (Tuckness) Snyder and died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Greenbrier Nursing Home.
She attended local schools and moved to California, where she met her first husband, Delbridge Doss. They made their home in Southern California.
They later divorced, and she moved back to Enid with her children. She married George Cordell in Enid in 1966.
The couple lived in Saudi Arabia for 26 years, where George was employed with Northrop.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and cake decorating. But mostly she loved helping others. She was a member of Eastern Star.
She is survived by six children, Steven Bradley Doss and wife Toni of Enid, Cynthia Kay Acuna and husband John of Vernon, Calif., Lawrence Eugene Doss and wife Teresa of Enid, Byron Joseph Cordell of Los Alamos, N.M., Timothy Dwayne Cordell and wife Valerie of Sand Springs, and Michael Cordell of Enid; grandchildren, Ashley, Joseph, Trevor, Sophie, Johnny, Lacy and Chris; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving is sister-in-law, Lois Snyder.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; sister, Virginia; and brother, Curtis.
