— Grace Mennonite to host Hanging of the Greens

Grace Mennonite Church, located on the corner of North Oakwood and Purdue, will host its Hanging of the Greens Christmas program and tasting party at 6 p.m. Sunday. Everyone is welcome.

 



Bazaar and noodle luncheon slated Saturday



Bethany United Methodist Church, 10th and East Maple, will host a bazaar and chicken noodle luncheon 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under.

Items will include crafts, baby quilts, quilted wall hangings, quilted throws, dishrags, hanging towels, insulated potholders, embroidered dish towels, knitted afghans, slippers, scarves and aprons. A bake sale and cookbooks also will be available. Proceeds will be used to help United Methodist Women’s projects.

 



Advent and Christmas music concert is Sunday



Dr. Thomas Whitaker will present a concert of Advent and Christmas music at 4 p.m. Sunday in the sanctuary at First United Methodist Church, 401 W. Randolph. Whitaker’s organ music will be accompanied by appropriate poetry of the season, read by Christianne Garber Chase.

Organ selections will include “Joy to the World,” “What Child is This?,” “God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen,” “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day” and many others.

Admission is free and open to the public.
