When there doesn’t seem to be any help anywhere else, The Healing Center soon may prove to be a salvation for those who are ill.
The Healing Center, sponsored by Destiny Christian Fellowship, 220 W. Broadway, will be the center of what supporters believe will be miraculous healing. The center opened on Thursday.
The goal is to provide prayer for those who are bound emotionally, spiritually or physically, said Darrel Kostka, who along with his wife Tammy, will act as directors for the center.
The center will be open 6:30-9 p.m. Thursdays and 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
Appointments are available and walk-ins are welcome. There is no charge, but tax-free donations are welcomed.
“We are launching a ministry completely devoted to the ministry of prayer,” Kostka said. “There are lots of areas where people need healing in their life, and we will provide a ministry of prayer to anyone who will come.”
He said the center is connected with other churches in town. Kostka said members of Grace World Outreach and Covenant Life Fellowship are serving in the center team of prayer leaders.
This is a new venture for Kostka, who has prayed for the sick before, but has not launched an entire ministry based on prayer.
The core team is currently about 13 people, but Kostka said they will build on that number and constantly will be recruiting and training.
A monthly orientation also is scheduled for people interested in being a part of the ministry. The orientation session will be 10 a.m. on the second Saturday of every month at the center.
