Enid High School graduate Lynsey Bigheart has been named Young Optometric Doctor of the Year for 2013 by the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians.
Bigheart received her doctorate in optometry from Northeastern State University after completing her undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Oklahoma. Bigheart is involved in Oklahoma Association for Optometric Physicians and sits on the board of directors and legislative committee. She received the 2012 Legislative Member of the Year award.
Bigheart will be honored at the April 13 meeting of Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians in Norman. Bigheart, along with her partner, Dr. Shannon Morgans, has opened a new practice in Tulsa under the name Twenty Twenty Eyecare.
A in 1998 EHS graduate, Bigheart has a strong heritage in Oklahoma. Her family is descended from both Osage and Cherokee tribal members. She is the daughter of Michael and Terry Bigheart, of Enid.
