AdvancePierre has presence at show

CINCINNATI — AdvancePierre Foods showcased many of its award-winning products at the National Automatic Merchandising Association’s OneShow in Las Vegas. In addition to displaying products available for Micro Markets, AdvancePierre sponsored a NAMA workshop April 23 that taught attendees about the new and exciting developments in micro markets. AdvancePierre recommends approximately 55 select items across more than 10 of its product lines for sale in micro markets, including BIG AZ, Drive Thru Deluxe, Hot ‘n’ Ready, Pierre Panini-Style Melts and Pierre minis. At the NAMA OneShow, AdvancePierre officially launched the new BIG AZ BaconAddict Cheeseburger, which is available for both micro markets and traditional vending. The BaconAddict will satisfy bacon-loving consumers with its juicy, oversized flame-broiled beef patty that is sandwiched between two layers of bacon-infused American cheese and topped with more bacon. Served up on AdvancePierre Foods’ delicious hearth-baked yeast roll, the BaconAddict Cheeseburger delivers a hot, fresh meal experience from the microwave.  “AdvancePierre Foods is constantly watching industry and consumer trends to develop new products that will meet our customers’ needs and the demands of their consumers,” said Tony Schroder, president of convenience channels at Advance Pierre Foods. “We are pleased to offer a wide variety of products for use in Micro Markets that will help to maximize our customers’ sales while reducing their waste. We will continue to develop additional products and packaging to further support the needs of micro markets.”

Many vending managers have found AdvancePierre Foods’ products to perform well in the new micro market retail format. “We recently opened a Micro Market at a community college, and AdvancePierre’s Hot ‘n’ Ready sandwiches account for 40 percent of sales there. The Hot ‘n’ Ready line allows for a wide variety of “heat-and-eat” products that nicely supplement the fresh food items,” said Jeff West of Canteen Berks/West Dairy. “AdvancePierre’s butcher-wrapped items present well in the micro market, because people are more likely to associate freshness with the butcher paper wrap.”

“AdvancePierre has done a great job in the vending industry, and the quality of their sandwiches has helped keep sales high. The breakfast sandwiches have been a huge hit — AdvancePierre’s Egg Sausage Croissant and Egg Cheese Croissant are the best sellers in the market,” said Ken Foley of Foley Foodservice. “We have always valued the quality of AdvancePierre Foods’ products, because people like them and think they are tasty.

“One nice advantage of AdvancePierre’s products is that they are usually not wasted, because they are refrigerated or frozen, so they last longer,” said David Carr of A Vending.

At the OneShow, AdvancePierre was presented with the NAMA 2013 Food Innovation Award for Drive Thru Deluxe Sandwiches.

“This recognition is evidence of our ability to connect with our consumers and meet their needs for great taste, high quality and a unique variety of products, time and time again,” said Schroder. “This prestigious award — chosen by industry professionals — validates the innovative approach that we strive to maintain in order to keep our customers and consumers satisfied.”
