Small business development center hosting workshop
The Oklahoma Small Business Development Center is sponsoring an Oklahoma Tax Commission workshop, “Taxes for Small Business and new Business,” from 9 a.m. to noon May 21 at the OSBDC office, located on the Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Enid campus, 2929 E. Randolph, Room 124.
A variety of topics will be covered to help small businesses, including business structure and registration; tax reports; income, self-employment and employment taxes; bookkeeping and records; employee records; exemptions and deductions for the self-employed; and a question-and-answer period. Attendees will receive program materials that include a new business registration packet.
OSBDC is dedicated to providing business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs the guidance and advice they need to start, grow and succeed in the business world. In Oklahoma, OSBDC offices normally are located on state college campuses with counselors available to provide knowledge guidance and support. OSBDC services are provided at no charge to the client.

Epley, Sheehan and LaSeur join GEFCO
Mike Epley, Michael Sheehan and Bill LaSeur have joined the GEFCO and King Oil Tools sales teams.
Epley is the new territory sales manager for Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and Louisiana. Epley brings extensive experience in sales and operations for Venture Drilling Supply to his new position.
Sheehan joins the King Oil Tools sales team as a territory salesman. He will provide sales support as needed as the company works to increase its market share. Sheehan has more than 15 years of experience in sales, client management and customer service.
LaSeur joins the GEFCO sales team as a specialist for oil and gas drill sales throughout North America. Since 1978, LaSeur has been involved in the oil and gas industry, spending the last 16 years at National Oil Well Varco, selling drilling rigs and related equipment.
“These gentlemen will increase the effectiveness of the sales and marketing team and will greatly strengthen GEFCO’s presence in their respective market areas,” said Charles Cunningham, vice president of sales and marketing. “These additions come at the perfect time as GEFCO continues to experience growth across the industries that it serves.”

Tate joins TPI Staffing
Monica Tate recently joined TPI Staffing Service Inc., the company has announced.
Tate previously lived in Enid for 10 years and has more than 14 years of experience in staffing, marketing and human resources.
Richardson Homes expands to Enid
Richardson Homes, an Oklahoma homebuilding company, recently announced the company is expanding to Enid.
Richardson Homes President Dennis Lee said in a press release Enid and surrounding areas are in need of new, quality and affordable homes.

Thompson promoted at Golden Oaks
Jeff Thompson, golf course manager at Golden Oaks Retirement Village, recently was promoted to grounds supervisor.
He has previous experience as a golf course superintendent for Shawnee Country Club, and also was golf course assistant supervisor at Twin Hills Golf Club in Oklahoma City.
The golf course at Golden Oaks is a nine-hole, par-3 golf course and is open to the public 8 a.m. to dusk Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to dusk Sunday. Fees are posted at the clubhouse.
