Beaver Express celebrates 70th anniversary

This July marks the 70th anniversary of Beaver Express Service LLC, a premier small package express and LTL motor freight carrier serving Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri and New Mexico.

Beaver Express Service LLC began as a small package express carrier, hauling packages and newspapers for The Oklahoman. Its service area began in northwestern Oklahoma, including the panhandle.

The company now has more than 3,200 direct service points in the six-state area, including 100 percent coverage to all points in Oklahoma and Kansas. It has 23 strategically located service centers, providing dependable pickup and delivery service. It has partnerships with more than 145 contractors that provide local service in most of the small towns it serves, ensuring excellent local service to customers in any size of town.

Roesslein hired for post at Jumbo Foods

Mike Roesslein recently was hired as director of deli and bakery operations for Jumbo Foods.

Roesslein has more than 20 years of experience in culinary arts and bakery management. He is a 1987 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y.

Hann and Huckins attend BKD conference

William Hann and Jarretta Huckins, from the Enid office of BKD CPAs and Advisors, recently attended the firm’s annual conference in Kansas City, Mo., along with about 900 partners, managers and supervisors from across the region.

Conference activities included strategic planning; continuing professional education including business ethics, networking opportunities, motivational messages from keynote speakers and industry-specific discussions for construction and real estate; financial services; health care/not-for-profit and government; manufacturing and distribution; and wealth planning.
