Garrett named outstanding representative

ENID, Okla. — The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research has named Natalie Garrett the 2013 Outstanding Customer Service Representative of the Year for the state.

To qualify, Garrett submitted the winning essay on the topic, “Communication is one of the most important parts of building strong relationships with your clients, companies and coworkers. Identify and explain the four greatest barriers to effective communication that you face (or have faced) and how you’ve worked to overcome these barriers.”

Additionally, she was selected for having demonstrated outstanding service and professionalism within the insurance community.

Garrett has been associated with Messer-Bowers Insurance in Enid since 1998. She served as a commercial lines account manager with a specialization in aviation since 2009. She has been a member of Insurance Association of Insurance Professionals since 2005, and is treasurer for Insurance Association of Enid and council public relations chair for Region VI. Garrett attained her CISR designation in 2010 and her AINS and CPIW designations in 2011. She is working on her CIC designation.

“Natalie Garrett was chosen as a state winner for exemplifying the characteristics and qualifications required to be eligible for the prestigious National Outstanding CSR of the Year Award,” said William T. Hold, Ph.D., CIC, CPCU, CLU, President of The National Alliance. “She represents the backbone of the insurance community, those customer service representatives distinguished for providing exceptional service on a daily basis.”

She received a framed certificate and now is one of 49 individuals eligible for the national honor. The National Outstanding CSR of the Year Award includes a $2,000 cash prize and a scholarship for the recipient’s employer to any program offered by The National Alliance. The national winner also receives a distinctive gold and diamond lapel pin case with the Outstanding CSR of the Year emblem.
