Organizations attend local training

— Enid Police Department officers and staff from YWCA Enid Crisis Center attended Sexual Assault Response Team training March 12 at YWCA Enid.

The program, titled “Non-stranger Sexual Assault: Profile of a Case,” was sponsored by Oklahoma Regional Community Policing Institute, Tulsa Police Department, Oklahoma Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, YWCA Enid, and United Way of Enid and Northwest Oklahoma.

The training was designed for members of the multi-disciplinary response to sexual assault, and was a presentation of a sexual assault case scenario from first disclosure to voir dire with presentations from advocacy, law enforcement, prosecution and sexual assault nurse examiners.

Officers from EPD attending included Sgt. Greg Gordon, Lt. Mark Blodgett and Det. Jeff Weber. YWCA staff members attending included Viviana Rountree, Linda Anderson, Lucy Gregorio, Lindsey Stowers, Courtney Wagner, Sharese Thomas and MaryLou Jones.
